-----------------------------------

****IMPORTANT NOTE****
This requires Beta 0.42 Patch for the original Community Patch to work. For Patch and information please visit:

THIS IS THE STANDALONE .POD OF THE HD TRUCKS. Installing to a Community Patched version of the game will result in duplicate truck listings unless you also copy over an original TRUCK2.pod from the stock game.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT?

9/5/80 UPDATE:

*Grave Digger now works
*Fixed error with Bear Foot's lights
*All trucks now have low detail models for distance that use 64x64 textures. This will reduce stutter and lag, especially with higher detail tracks on longer draw distances.

11/11/18 UPDATE:

*Adds Bigfoot XV and new Grave Digger
*Grave Digger HD is now Grave Digger XII, as it was in the stock game. Grave Digger VII is now listed as such in game
*Power Wheels now has the correct rear tires

FIRST RELEASE:

All HD trucks are now compatible with the new 2.1 truck format and have full 4 link suspensions for the first time ever. Bigfoot HD, Firestone Wilderness HD, and Snake Bite HD also have different rear tires to match their late 1997/early 1998 setups. Also included are 2 new trucks - Bigfoot Racer (the red/yellow stripe paint) and the original red Snake Bite.

Old info:

WHAT IS THIS?

This pack of 22 trucks is the result of my quest to upgrade MTM 2's truck roster to be more colorful and more accurate to the real life trucks which the stock trucks are modeled after. Each of the trucks included has been rebuilt from the ground up with new models and new textures to achieve this goal while still keeping trucks under the 1000 vert limit.

HOW DID YOU DO THIS?

The trucks are, what I guess would be called in vintage MTM 2 parlance, "semi-fiberglass", meaning the bodies have wheel wells with 3D modeled shocks, but the chassis are still primarily solid objects with textures conveying the framework.

WHY DID YOU DO THIS?

Two reasons. First, I've never been satisfied with how the stock trucks look in the game, in the best cases the colors are too dull, in some of the worst cases (Grave Digger) the model does a poor job of conveying the actual shape of the trucks. Secondly, I wanted to brighten up the game to make it more like MTM 1, which had inaccurately modeled trucks but brighter colors that make an impact. I also wanted to make sure these trucks were playable on older systems - full 3D frames look fantastic, but can drive vert counts well over 1000 and cause graphical issues with the game. With the stock tracks, you should be able to play these trucks with full graphics settings on, no issues.

SO TELL ME MORE ABOUT WHAT'S IN HERE...

TruckHD.pod is the HD remake of 16 trucks not based on wrestling from MTM 2, plus Power Wheels from MTM 1 and five other new trucks. All of the trucks have lights and use stock commentary files, except for Predator and Equalizer which use custom commentary. All trucks appear in game with HD after the name to signify them being the HD versions. If you mount the pod above truck2.pod in pod.ini, the trucks should be the first ones listed in the Opponent selection screen.

Trucks in the pack include:
Bear Foot
Bigfoot
Bigfoot Cruiser
Bigfoot Racer
Black Stallion 2000
Bulldozer
Boogey Van
Carolina Crusher
Equalizer
Executioner
Firestone Wilderness
Grave Digger
Monster Patrol
Nitemare
Overkill
Power Wheels
Predator
Rampage
Samson
Snake Bite
Snake Bite (Red)
Wildfoot

ANY ISSUES?

Yes. Using more than 6 trucks at a time will cause significant lag due to how many textures are used. As plans for upcoming Community Patches include fixing this issue, I've decided to leave the trucks as they are for now.

CAN I USE THEM TO MAKE MY OWN TRUCKS?

Absolutely! I'm hoping this jumpstarts editing again, as the full-fiberglass trucks had become a bit of a beast to work with. Feel free to use whatever assets from this to do as you wish, I only ask that you credit me in a Readme file.

SPECIAL THANKS:
